On the 1st day of Fitmas, my health coach gave to me...

Eat 1 extra veggie a day!

On the 1st day of Fitmas, Your health coach gave to you a simple tip to eat a little better to feel better.

Eat one extra veggie each day and not the french fried kind. 😜  As a recovering picky eater, I know it’s hard to eat vegetables, so experiment with different ones and different ways to cook them.

Eating a variety of colors and fruits and vegetables gives you a variety of nutrients. This is important as we hit middle age to lower inflammation and slow down aging!

You deserve to take good care of yourself so you can fully enjoy the holiday!

On the 2nd day of Fitmas, my health coach gave to me...

2 feet placed purposely on the ground to remind you to be where your feet are.

1 extra veggie a day!

On the 2nd day of Fitmas, purposely place 2 feet on the ground to remind you to be where your feet are.

Eating mindfully means paying attention to the colors, texture and flavor of foods.  It’s also recognizing when you’re satisfied and not over full.

Food is meant to be enjoyed and when you slow down and be present you can enjoy it more!

Over the holiday season, take time to be present at meals and present with people you love. I also encourage you to spend some quiet time with God reflecting on the reason for the season!

On the 3rd day of Fitmas, my health coach gave to me...

3 healthier oils to cook with- avocado, olive, or coconut oil

On the 3rd day of Fitmas, your health coach gave to you… change to the 3 healthier oils to cook with- avocado, olive, or coconut oil.

Your body needs these good sources of healthy fats. It’s time to give up the highly processed oils- vegetable, canola, corn, sunflower, soybean, etc. They are causing inflammation!

It might be time for an oil change! You don’t need a drastic diet to feel better.

As we hit middle age, it’s important to lower inflammation to slow aging and progression of chronic inflammation. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet which includes a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, quality proteins and healthy fats can taste as good as it makes you feel! These healthier oils are a good source of healthy fat.

This is a simple change that you will barely notice a difference in taste but can make a big difference in your health!

On the 4th day of Fitmas, my health coach gave to me...
